The Association of the Semiconductor Sector (SIA)has revealed that VGlobal chips in 2024 reached 627.6 billion of dollars, 19.1% more than in 2023, when they stayed at 526.8 billion dollars.
Only for sales of the last quarter in semiconductors, the companies in the sector entered 170.9 billion dollars, 17.1% more than in the same period of 2023, and 3% more than in the previous quarter. Total sales of December 2024 remained nonetheless at 57,000 million dollars, 1.2% less than the previous month.
By regions, the regions where semiconductor sales rose most were North America and South America, with an increase of 44.8%, followed by Asia-Pacific and rest, with a 12.5% improvement. In Europe they dropped 8.1%, and in Japan they dropped 0.4%. Sales from month to month rose in the American continent (3.2%), but fell in Europe (6.4%), Japan (4.7%), China (3.8%) and Asia Pacific – Rest (1.4%).

Semiconductors activate practically all modern technologies, including medical devices, communications, defense applications, AI or advanced transport among others. Among the product segments that have stood out more in 2024 in the semiconductor sector are logical products, whose sales arrived in 2024 at 212.6 billion dollars, becoming the main category of this type of sales for sales.
Los Memory products They remained in second in salesyes, with a 78.9% increase in 2024 to 165.1 billion of dollars. DRAM products, a part of the memory chips, rose 82.6% in sales, in what represents the highest growth percentages of all semiconductor product categories in 2024.
