SenseTime Group, an AI unicorn, is downsizing its office space in Singapore, moving from a prime downtown location to a smaller, more affordable office in a less central neighborhood, Bloomberg reported last Friday. In July 2021, SenseTime launched the SenseTime International AI Innovation Hub in Singapore to establish a regional center for AI talent development. The company partnered with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to provide AI-focused training and hands-on opportunities for local undergraduates, postgraduates, and adults interested in artificial intelligence. In December 2024, SenseTime’s CEO sent an internal memo announcing the completion of the company’s strategic restructuring. The memo stated that the company will now focus on its core businesses, including AI Cloud and general vision models. [Bloomberg, SenseTime]
