Amazon, which owns Ring, normally flogs the Ring Outdoor Camera (Battery Version) for about £80.

But this is the Certified Refurbished model, which isn’t brand new but has been totally restored.

According to Amazon price trackers, this has a usual sales price of £59.99.

But it’s now discounted to £39.99, making it half price compared to a brand new unit.

This particular gadget is an outdoor security camera, so it’s fine to leave out in the rain or wind.

It lets you easily check up on what’s going on in your back garden or down the side of your home, or wherever else you’d like to keep tabs on.

You can monitor what’s going on using Ring’s smartphone app – the same way you’d check up on a Ring video doorbell.

This camera is a battery-powered version, so you don’t need to hard-wire it.

Instead, you simply pop out the battery every few months, charge it back up, and then put it back in.

Amazon says you’ll get HD video and night vision, as well as the option for two-way talk thanks to a built-in microphone and speaker.

You’ll get real-time notifications if the camera picks up movement.

And you can set up motion zones in the app, which allow you to only receive notifications for the parts of the camera view you care about – rather than anyone simply walking past on the street, for instance.

The product isn’t brand new, but it has been restored via Amazon’s Certified Refurbished scheme.

That means you’ll still get a one-year warranty, and the usual in-box accessories like the quick-release battery pack, a Micro-USB charging cable, the security stick, screws, wall anchors, and a user manual.

Amazon says that the gadget is weather resistant, and can operate between temperatures of -20C and 50C, which should suit most people just fine.

And it’s available via Amazon Prime for faster delivery.
