ISsubsidiary of the Indra group specialized in cybersecurity, has reached a Collaboration Agreement with the University of Barcelona to train students in cybersecurity of the entia private center dedicated to the Higher Technological Formation and that is attached to it.
This cycle began to be taught in the 2024-2025 course, and aims to strengthen the specialization in ICT, and specifically in information security, with the aim of training professionals who can meet the growing demand for specialists in the sector.
Thanks to this agreement, students will carry out external academic practices in SIA, through a training project for each student. In this way, students of the degree can make contact with the real labor market, to know the methods, tools and strategies used in cybersecurity to protect all kinds of organizations.
The two parties that have signed the agreement also contemplate the possibility of expanding collaboration in the future with other actions. Among them the impartment by the Indra group of classes, presentations and other types of training activities.
The signing of the agreement, made at the headquarters where the Enti-UB has the classrooms of the cybersecurity and the laboratory studies, has counted with the assistance of the CEO of SIA, Roberto Espina, who stressed that «To be a professional cybersecurity in our country, a plus of specialization outside regulated training and permanent update is needed. Like other technological areas in full boom and development, such as AI, Big Data or 5G, the cybersecurity sector continues and will continue to grow. Given the forecasts, in SIA, we invest in promoting the attraction and training of professionals with different levels of experience. We firmly believe that it is essential to do so to meet the needs of the market and enable a safe digital transformation to organizations«.
At present, SIA has more than 2,000 experts, and is in the process of expansion in Catalonia. It has a wide path in cybersecurity, in addition to training students in this discipline. Thus, every year, the company forms and incorporates about 500 professionals, with a model called Cyber-Capacities Talent Camp.
It also attracts talent thanks to the signing of agreements with educational centers. After the signing of the latter with the University of Barcelona, they are 27 universities and 23 professional training centers those that already They have an agreement with SIA. In addition, it also has collaborations with entities specialized in cybersecurity for staff training and certification.
