It’s Sky‘s often-overlooked Refer a Friend scheme, which millions of Sky customers are eligible to take part in.

If you’re a Sky customer, you can share a unique link with pals or family members.

And if they sign up to a Sky product, you’ll both get vouchers that you can spend at stores.

Similarly, if you’re thinking about joining Sky, check in with a friend who has it already for their code.

That way, you’ll both be able to claim one of the rewards.

The value of the voucher depends on which Sky product you sign up for.

Customers who go for the Sky Glass TV are eligible for the top £100 reward, while a Sky Mobile SIM-only plan nets the lowest-value voucher.

Here’s how the current values break down:

  • Sky Glass – £100 vouchers
  • Sky Stream – £50 vouchers
  • Sky Broadband (Full Fibre) – £40 vouchers
  • Sky Broadband (Superfast) – £20 vouchers
  • Sky Mobile (SIM + Phone or tablet) – £25 vouchers
  • Sky Mobile (SIM only) – £15 vouchers

HOW TO REFER A FRIEND ON SKY

To refer a friend, you’ll need to be an active Sky customer.

Then just go to sky.com/refer-a-friend and log in with your Sky ID.

Next, go to your profile and get your unique referral link.

Copy and paste it to your friend using whichever method you’d like – email, text, social media, or even just reading it aloud to them in person.

You’re allowed to refer up to 30 friends or family within 12 months.

But you can’t refer more than 10 people in a 24-hour period.

There is one catch: you’re not allowed to publicise your links for open groups on social media.

Sky says it is “strictly prohibited”, and can lead to your rewards being cancelled and your account being blocked from the referral scheme.

Once your pal has the referral link, they can sign up to a service, revisit the link, and then enter their new account number.

HOW MANY REWARDS DO YOU GET?

Here’s the official word from Sky…

“If your friend buys one Sky product, you’ll both get one reward each,” Sky explained.

“If your friend buys more than one Sky product then you’ll both get the highest reward available when they buy Sky Glass, Sky Stream and/or Sky Broadband.

“If your friend buys Sky Mobile with these, you’ll each get another reward.”

HOW TO GET YOUR SKY REWARD VOUCHER

Once your friend has confirmed the referral, you’ll get your reward via email.

It’ll come once the services are installed (or the Sky Mobile SIM is activated), the first bill has been paid, and two weeks have passed since the cooling off period.

You’ll have 11 months to choose your reward and use it before it expires.

Once you’ve got the voucher, you’ll be able to spend it at a long list of stores and services.

Sky says they include:

  • Boots
  • Asos
  • Sainsbury’s (Gift Card)
  • Argos
  • Pizza Express
  • Just Eat
  • Tesco
  • John Lewis & Partners
  • B&Q
  • Airbnb
  • Ikea
  • Currys
  • Halfords
  • Nike
  • Lastminute

You can spend the voucher through Sky’s online rewards portal, which has upwards of 100 ‘e-vouchers’.

There will also be some physical voucher options to spend in stores if you prefer, according to Sky.
