FARGO — A local software company is helping improve farming technologies for livestock.
701x in Fargo has a software app that allows ranchers to enter all the data and records used for approximately 350 farms.
Now they are partnering with Digital Beef to expand their services.
Digital Beef is a registry software platform based in San Antonio, Texas. It serves 17 cattle and 2 sheep associations.
Those using 701x software can report animal performance and receive registration certificates and performance ranking data. Employees say the new partnership will add more than 9,000 ranches to their customer base.
“They serve a lot of these sit-down dock manufacturers and we’ve developed a lot of technology that fits well in the industry,” said Max Cossette, 701x Vice President of Business Development.
701x also offers hardware devices, such as GPS ear tags for livestock.
“We are one of the few companies that have GPS livestock ear tags, and even the companies that do have GPS livestock ear tags don’t have many of the algorithms and artificial intelligence models that we have built on our tag,” Cossette said .
Cossette said they plan to add satellite connectivity in the coming years as well.
