Apple products have a solid reputation for durability, but the latest evidence of that is especially impressive. A Ukrainian solider has posted about his M1 MacBook Air stopping an artillery shell fragment, and continuing to work fine.

M1 MacBook Air still operates well after taking artillery fragment

Hopefully not many of us are in environments where fragments from artillery shells are flying left and right.

But a Ukrainian soldier that’s part of the Azov Brigade may be the exception. And he’s just posted strong evidence for the durability of Apple’s MacBook Air design.

His M1 MacBook Air stopped a fragment from an artillery shell, but still works remarkably well.

You can see the damage in the post below:

A separate post contains a video where you can see macOS functioning just fine, albeit with some very obvious display issues.

Back in 2022, photos began circulating of an iPhone that allegedly saved a Ukrainian soldier from a bullet. This latest MacBook Air example may not be quite as dramatic, but it’s yet another sign of the quality of Apple products.

What’s your most memorable Apple hardware durability story? Let us know in the comments.
