Sony is expanding its Pulse lineup of gaming accessories with something entirely new – wireless desktop speakers. Announced during the recent State of Play event, the Pulse Elevate speakers are the first wireless speakers developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, designed to slot neatly into a PS5, PC, or Mac setup, while also working seamlessly with the PlayStation Portal and even smartphones.

The Pulse Elevate promises “lifelike desktop audio,” powered by studio-grade planar magnetic drivers. Sony says this allows players to hear games exactly as developers intended, with sharper sound positioning for PS5 titles that support Tempest 3D AudioTech. Built-in woofers handle the low end, creating a fuller soundscape that aims to rival high-end headsets.

Voice chat is another highlight. Instead of relying on a headset, the right speaker includes a microphone with AI-powered noise rejection to cut out background distractions, making it easier to communicate clearly in multiplayer sessions.

The Pulse Elevate connects through Sony’s PlayStation Link, ensuring ultra-low latency and lossless sound whether you’re gaming on a PS5, PC, Mac, or the PlayStation Portal. The speakers also support Bluetooth, letting users mix game audio with music or calls from another device simultaneously. Each unit comes with a PlayStation Link USB adapter for USB-C ports.

With built-in rechargeable batteries, players can pick up the speakers and use them beyond the desktop, while charging docks are included for easy recharging when back at the desk. The speakers can be tilted or adjusted to fit your desk setup, while simple onboard controls make it easy to tweak volume or mute the mic. For those who like finer control, EQ and audio settings can be customised directly through the PS5 or PC menus.

Sony says the Pulse Elevate will hit shelves in 2026. Buyers will get to choose between Midnight Black and White, though the white variant will only be available in limited numbers. Pricing and an exact launch date will be revealed closer to release.
