Another group of plucky challengers is set to don those iconic green tracksuits in a bid to claim the largest prize in US reality TV show history, as Squid Game: The Challenge returns for its second season.
With Hwang Dong-hyuk’s original dystopian thriller still standing as Netflix‘s most-watched non-English language show of all time, its spin-off reality game show has also proven massively successful, having won a BAFTA Award and received three Emmy nominations.
As with the TV drama, the contestants lives together in shared quarters and must compete in a series of high-stakes challenges inspired by the original Squid Game — complete with shock eliminations, psychological twists and mounting tension as the pool of players narrows.
This sophomore season features contestants from far-flung locations such as Mexico, England, Japan and the United Arab Emirates, ranging in age from 21 to 77. A lobster fisherman, Robert Pattinson’s stunt double in Twilight and an NFL cheerleader are among those battling out for the cool $4.56 million prize.

When to watch Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2
The new season of Squid Game: The Challenge consists of 10 episodes and premieres on Netflix on Tuesday, Nov. 4, with the first four episodes released at 3 a.m. ET (12 a.m. PT).
The next three installments will be available at the same time on Nov. 11, with the final three episodes, including the finale, hitting the streaming service on Nov. 18.
Netflix raised prices in early 2025, so be aware that you’ll be paying these rates now: Standard with ads is $8 per month; ad-free Standard costs $18 per month and Premium, which is also ad-free, runs $25 per month.
Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 is available to stream exclusively on Netflix with any plan. All three Netflix plans include downloads (on two devices for Standard and Standard with ads; six devices for Premium). Some titles are not available on the streamer’s ad-supported plan due to licensing restrictions, and a lock icon will appear when this is the case.
