SpaceX’s Starlink system might be suffering another outage, a week after the satellite internet system experienced a disruption that knocked it offline for several hours.
On Thursday, Starlink users on Reddit and Facebook reported connection problems across the US. “Out for me again too. Not great for a WFH [work from home],” wrote one user on Reddit.

Downdetector.com shows outage reports spiking around 1 p.m. Pacific time. SpaceX didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. However, the outage reports on Downdetector have since dropped off, suggesting that the company has implemented a fix.

“Was out for maybe 2-3 minutes in Maine, back up now,” wrote another user on Reddit. PCMag analyst Brian Westover, who uses Starlink in Idaho, had no issues. Internet backbone provider Cloudflare also didn’t register a significant outage for the Starlink network.
This reported downtime happened on the same day of the week, and around the same time, as last week’s massive Starlink outage, which shut down access across the globe for almost three hours. In some cases, customers reported the outage lasting into the next day,
The satellite internet service currently serves over 6 million customers, many of them based in rural and remote areas. As a result, any disruption could force numerous consumers and businesses offline, without a high-speed backup to choose from.

SpaceX attributed last week’s outage to a network upgrade, which involved rolling out software to the company’s ground-based “compute clusters” to manage traffic for the satellite internet system. “If you are having trouble connecting after the outage on July 24th 2025, please power cycle and reboot all Starlink and 3rd party equipment,” the company said at the time.
