For the past hour, Starlink customers around the globe have had trouble using the service. Although unrelated, the outage comes just one day after T-Mobile launched its integration with the satellite network.

On X, Starlink acknowledged that it is working through the solution of a global outage, which began a little more than an hour ago:

Starlink is currently in a network outage and we are actively implementing a solution. We appreciate your patience, we’ll share an update once this issue is resolved.

The company’s Status page also confirms the problem, and saying that their team is investigating. DownDetector also shows a spike in outage reports, although it appears the service has already started to recover.

The service, now available across the U.S., is rolling out with limited texting and location features. It supports text messaging and location sharing (including with Apple’s Emergency SOS feature), and works on over 60 devices, including iPhone 13 and newer, Pixel 9, and recent Galaxy models.

It is available as a $10/month standalone subscription for a limited time, or included in T-Mobile’s premium plans.

Update, 6:40 p.m. ET:  Starlink says the issue has been mostly resolved.

Starlink has now mostly recovered from the network outage, which lasted approximately 2.5 hours.  The outage was due to failure of key internal software services that operate the core network.  We apologize for the temporary disruption in our service; we are deeply committed to… https://t.co/ffFYM1Z7tD
