Smartphone theft has become a widespread problem in the digital environment, where everything is accelerated. It could be quite dangerous when using a crowded metro or traveling on a bus over a long distance it where other people could easily steal your phone and take it out of your pocket or bag unnoticeably.
This problem is even more crucial today because smartphones are not being an emergency means of communication, but also contain our personal data, banking applications, photos, identity documents, etc. When you lose a phone, you do not lose a gadget, but you lose your digital identity.
To counter this rising issue, Google has introduced various security features to Android users. Among them is the Anti-Theft Alarm, a feature not many know but ultimately helpful to deter mobile theft on the spot. The aim of this feature is to immediately trigger a loud alarm when the phone detects a suspicious activity, like being stolen out of your pocket or shifted by someone without your permission.
The loud alarm can notify the people around and might even provide you with the opportunity to respond as fast as possible, before the thief escapes.
How to Enable Anti-Theft Alarm on Android Phones
- Open the Settings app on your Android phone.
- Scroll down and go to Security and Privacy.
- Tap on More Security from the available options.
- You will now see Anti-Theft Features—select it.
- On the next screen, choose Anti-Theft Alarm.
- Turn on the toggle switch to activate the alarm feature.
