An immense chandelier which falls on Belle and her prince, Jasmine who succumbs to the devastating charm of Stitch and leaves Aladdin alone on his carpet or even Ariel dislodged from her rock when the blue Alien appears on a surfboard, Disney had done proof of inventiveness in presenting his hero to the public.
In 2024, as it prepares to return in a live-action proposal, the company adapts its recipe with a teaser of the Lion King transformed for the occasion. The sequence obviously refers to the one broadcast more than two decades earlier, when Stitch invited himself into Rafiki’s arms on Lions Rock. Bad luck, YouTube spills the beans with the title and description of the video. What should you expect?
As The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast before him, Lilo & Stitch is expected to continue the narrative of its animated predecessor. The film will tell the story of the meeting of a blue alien and a touching and funny little Hawaiian girl. Stitch has escaped from a laboratory in space and is pursued by Captain Gantu, a bounty hunter. In the face of adversity, the two heroes will form an unwavering friendship and learn the meaning of the word family.
Note that Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois are not returning to direct. If the first has just delivered a new animated film, The Wild Robotthe second is mobilized for another live-action adaptation. Dean DeBlois is due to deliver a retelling of the adventures of Toothless and Hiccup next year. It is therefore up to Dean Fleischer-Camp to realize this new Lilo & Stitch was entrusted. He co-signed Marcel the shell in 2021. See you on May 21 at the cinema to find out if Lilo & Stitch in the flesh (in CGI for the second) is worth the detour.
