QuantumLight, the venture capital firm founded by Revolut boss Nikolay Storonsky, has closed its inaugural investment fund, worth $250m (£187m).

Launched in 2023, QuantumLight targets startups across AI, Web3, fintech, SaaS and health tech.

The VC group assesses investments through a proprietary AI model called Aleph which, the firm claims, can identify outlier founders of growth-stage companies.

Storonsky said Aleph allows QuantumLight to find promising businesses whilst avoiding a “crows mentality” that often comes from “human judgement”.

“Our ambition is to build the world’s best systematic venture capital and growth equity firm – and support the new generation of founders by sharing some of the operating principles that we developed at Revolut”, said Storonsky.

Startups already backed by QuantumLight include Robin AI, a generative AI chatbot for the legal sector and Ben, an employee benefits platform.

The firm, alongside the fund announcement. has released a “hiring playbook”, offering guidance on rapid hiring for startups.

“Our goal is to make the invisible operating systems behind iconic companies like Revolut visible and replicable,” added QuantumLight chief executive Ilya Kondrashov.

“Founders shouldn’t have to reinvent the wheel when it comes to building high-performing teams. By sharing these tools and frameworks, we’re helping scale-ups move faster from day one.”
