ScrubMarine, a British deep tech firm developing autonomous robotic systems for maritime inspections and maintenance, has raised $1m (£740,000).
Based between Edinburgh and the Lake District, ScrubMarine is looking to replace the manual and often dangerous process that typify much of the maritime infrastructure industry.
The firm claims its technology can operate in some of the harshest environments on the planet whilst maintaining cost-effectiveness.
“The maritime world runs global trade, but much of its infrastructure still depends on legacy processes,” said co-founder Rohith Devanathan.
“We’re building autonomous systems designed to operate in some of the hardest environments on the planet.”
Now backed by new funding, ScrubMarine is looking to accelerate its engineering and grow its team.
The company’s investors include PXN Ventures, SFC Capital and angel backers.
