A lot of HID subsystem updates have been queuing up ahead of the Linux 6.20~7.0 merge window in February. There is a lot of new hardware support on the way along with quirks for some existing hardware support ranging from laptop keyboard issues to enabling support for more PS4/PS5 guitars under Linux.
Some of the HID code queued so far into the HID subsystem’s “for-next” Git branch include:
– Support for the Bluetooth-connected Rock Band 4 PS4 guitars including the PDP Jaguar and MadCatz Stratocaster.
– A separate commit also adds support for the Rock Band 4 PS4/PS5 guitars of the DP RiffMaster and the CRKD Gibson SG.
– The ASUS HID driver now has Fn lock support for the ASUS ProArt P16. laptop.
– HID-Multitouch quirks for the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i dual-screen laptop.
– The SONiX KN85 Keyboard is added to the Apple HID driver in order to fix the function keys support.
– The HID Rapoo driver is new and is used for properly enabling support for the side buttons on the RAPOO 0x2015 mouse. Without this new 101 line of code driver, the side buttons for this RAPOO mouse aren’t working under Linux.
More details on these upcoming HID driver improvements for Linux 6.20~7.0 can be found via the patch queue in hid.git for-next.
