T-Mobile laid off an undisclosed amount of employees within its IT organization, the Bellevue, Wash.-based wireless carrier confirmed to GeekWire.

“To put T-Mobile in the best position to continue delivering our customers best-in-class digital first experiences, we are evolving our IT organization,” the company said in a statement. “As we continue to hire for hundreds of new roles, we have eliminated a small portion of positions to realign the focus and structure of some parts of the team. We have offered impacted employees support as they transition.”

A spokesperson did not provide details about number of workers impacted.

T-Mobile, which recently closed its acquisition of UScellular’s wireless operations, reported $17.4 billion in services revenue for its most recent quarter, up 6% year-over-year, and net income of $3.2 billion — up 10% and a quarterly record.

T-Mobile, the second-largest wireless carrier in the U.S., added 1.7 million postpaid customers in the quarter. Its stock is up nearly 30% in the past 12 months.
