TARGET shoppers can get a multi-purpose suitcase and backpack combo this month that’s been flying off shelves.
While it already has a budget-friendly price of $50, top competitors like Walmart are offering a similar option for less.

“Looking for a new carry-on backpack to take on your travels?” questioned savvy shopper Michelle Thomas (@snickerbarbie) in the caption for a recent TikTok video.
“Checkout the 45L Travel Backpack by Open Story.”
Michelle claimed she got the item on a sale for $28, but it’s currently listed on Target’s website for $70, depending on the size.
Smaller options, for example, like the 40L, are just $50.
The TikToker and Target fan showed viewers the version she picked up in the blue color option.
Open Story is a Target-owned brand that makes luggage and travel accessories exclusively sold at the retail giant.
It seeks to offer the same quality as top brands for a more affordable price to consumers.

The 45L Travel Backpack is basically a suitcase in backpack form, coming with countless pockets and ample storage space for clothes, toiletries, and even a 17-inch laptop, per the product description.
There’s padded shoulder straps, a back sleeve, exterior zip pocket, and much more.
The backpack is also made from a recycled polyester, is water-resistant, and has a trolley strap so it can be slipped over the handle of a wheeled suitcase if needed.

For those who don’t need as much space and are looking to save money more than anything, Walmart offers the Xueyu 35L Travel Backpack for only $27.99 on its website.
While it also has a suitcase-style, this is made more strictly for carry-on travel.
It still has plenty of storage, including a shoe compartment, side elastic pockets, a separate laptop compartment, front zipper pocket, and even a USB charging port built-in via an included power bank.
Customers who purchase the Xueyu 35L Travel Backpack also get two complimentary toiletry bags.
Black and pink color options are available, and customers similarly rated it high at 4.6 out of five stars overall.

The decision between the Target or Walmart option will ultimately come down to shoppers’ budgets and personal preferences.
