The Technics EAH-AZ100 have picked up the coveted Best Wireless Earbuds gong at the Trusted Reviews Awards 2025.
We rarely give out the full five stars in our product reviews, so when a product does get full marks, you know it’s for something pretty special. And the Technics EAH-AZ100 are pretty special indeed, comfortably coming out as the best wireless earbuds we’ve tested this year and a worthy winner of the award.
These wireless buds tick all the boxes we look for, from the excellent sound to the top-class noise cancelling, and things that are often forgotten about, like the brilliant call quality and plentiful customisation options to really tweak the sound depending on your personal preferences.
The buds feature a bunch of AI features, notably for stripping away background noise in phone calls, Dolby Atmos support for 360-degree audio that fully immerses you in sound and an 8mm magnetic fluid driver for low distortion, high resolution audio.
You can connect them to the three Bluetooth devices at once for easy switching, and there’s multiple codec support, including LDAC.

Battery life is great too, exceeding some of the notable competition. In our tests, the buds lasted for 10 hours with ANC on, and you’ll get another 26 hours of juice from the pocketable charging case. That’s seriously impressive stuff, and will ensure you don’t need to worry about starting your morning commute with a dead pair of buds.
In his 5/5 Highly Recommended review, our audio expert said, “Technics has finally delivered a true wireless pair confident enough to muscle in among Bose and Sony. They sound great, the cancel noise impressively well, are comfortable to wear and offer reliable call quality.”
More praise came for the sound quality – “There’s a lovely sense of flow and musicality across a range of music genres. Rhythmically, they handle transitions from slow to faster tempos and vice versa in System Of A Down’s Chop Suey! well.”
Our reviewer had extra praise for the call quality, which was described as “pretty remarkable for a true wireless”.
While sound quality is of course key, ANC is exceptional here too. Our reviewer noted how they were “one of the few headphones able to cope with Jubilee and Victoria Underground lines without a fuss.’ He went on to say, “Even at 50% volume, they batted away noises. People’s voices become murmurs – at worst, you might hear someone cough – and in general, the noise-cancelling hushes away a lot of noise, while wind noise doesn’t affect the performance.”
In such a crowded market, it can be tough to stand out – but that’s something the Technics EAH-AZ100 don’t have an issue with. These buds stand out, and are worthy winners of the Best Wireless Earbud award.
