Telefónica Tech has reached an agreement with the technology company Hiberus to sell its business divisions in Colombia, Mexico and Chile. In addition, both companies will maintain an alliance that will allow Telefónica Tech to continue serving its multinational clients in the three regions.

The operation will be carried out with the guarantee of the continuity of labor and contractual relations, according to current regulations, and will not have an impact on the services that Telefónica Tech provides to its multinational clients.

Within this framework, the company’s Digital Operations Center in Colombia will continue to be part of Telefónica Tech and function normally, providing services to the company’s customers. In this way, Telefónica Tech advances its organizational simplification strategy, reinforcing its focus on digital and technological solutions with greater added value for companies, in line with its main markets for the Telefónica Group: Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany and Brazil.

With this purchase, for its part, Hiberus consolidates its presence in Latin America, and expands its expansion in markets considered key, in addition to boosting its capabilities in strategic areas. In this way, it is positioned as a reference company in the area, and comments on its position to provide service to North America.

Maria Jesús Almazor, COO of Telefónica Tech for Spain and Americahas highlighted that «This agreement is a natural step within our evolution as a digital services company of the Telefónica Group, within the framework of the new Transform & Grow Strategic Plan. It will allow us to maintain closeness with customers and continue offering Telefónica Tech services with the same standards of quality and commitment.«.

Sergio López, CEO of Hiberushas also pointed out that «With this operation we reinforce our capabilities in cybersecurity and cloud, since we incorporate a highly specialized team that will lead our presence in Latin America. Thus, we laid the foundations for a strategic alliance with Telefónica with a long-term vision. Additionally, this move allows the company to advance our strategic plan.«.
