As if it were a mobile phone, Tesla has software update number 6.2 ready for the Model S. This should eliminate range anxiety once and for all. But wait, there’s more.
Two new pieces of software ensure that you never have to worry about distance anymore. The Trip Planner works together with the navigation system to automatically schedule charging stops during long journeys at Supercharger stations (you previously had to do this yourself). It Range Assurance system shows when you drive further than your range and reports where charging points are located. Something that BMW has been using for some time in the i3 and i8.
Also apply emergency braking in between
Besides all that tripgeplan Tesla has put a lot more interesting software in the Model S. If you have the new generation with a cog at the front, you will now have an emergency stop that automatically uses the brakes when a collision threatens.

You also get a new blind spot system that works between 30 and 140 km/h. When a vehicle is in your car’s blind spot, a signal will appear on the dashboard. If you do move to the side, the signal will turn red, a signal will sound and the steering wheel will vibrate. Finally, the top speed of the S P85D was increased to 250 km/h.
