December is bringing a wave of updates to Sky+, Sky Q, and Sky Glass/Stream, with several channels getting a rebrand and others disappearing from screens entirely.

Further changes took place throughout November, which affected how viewers accessed a number of beloved shows for kids.

A staple of children’s TV for over 20 years, POP and Tiny POP, originally started life as Toons&Tunes back in 2003.

Since rebranding, they have built a reputation for airing big-name titles such as Dragon Ball Super, Masha and the Bear and Elmo’s World.

Moving forward, POP will exist exclusively as a web stream.

Fans will need to tune in via internet-enabled Freeview devices, or use the free streaming channels available on Samsung and LG Smart TVs.

Following the closure of CITV back in September 2023, this move means that CBBC and CBeebies will be the last remaining free-to-air kids’ channels on standard broadcast TV.

It is a decision driven by the changing habits of young viewers, who are increasingly flocking to streaming giants like YouTube.

Early this year, reality TV fans said goodbye to ITVBe after more than 10 years from every platform, including Sky and Virgin, as well as Freeview, Freesat and Freely too.

The biggest ITVBe shows, like TOWIE, has moved to ITV2.
