The 5 Best St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Deals on Laptops, Tablets, and More

Although St. Patty’s Day doesn’t arrive until Tuesday, I’m already tapping into a little luck of the Irish with my deal-hunting this weekend. Every Friday, I scan through the offerings from major retailers to pull out deep discounts on products that we’ve reviewed and loved. Because what’s better than saving heaps of cash on top-rated tech gear? This week, celebrate the festivities by 3D printing yourself a four-leaf clover, listening to your favorite folk songs with some Pixel Buds, or just enjoying all the money you’ve saved with these deals.

Need a new pair of earbuds that play nice with your Android devices? The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 got an “Excellent” rating in our review, with writer Christian de Looper saying that they provide “absolutely seamless first-party compatibility with Pixel phones,” including being able to tap into Gemini Live for voice-activated AI functionality. In terms of pure sound quality, they’re top-notch, with 11mm dynamic drivers pumping out robust and rich audio and active noise cancellation. Their stemless design makes them some of the smallest earbuds on the market, but the touch controls are responsive and accurate. The earbuds are rated for 12 hours of battery life with ANC off and eight with it on.

Android tablets come in a bevy of different form factors and price points, but at the budget level, it’s hard to find one that stacks up as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+, especially with a $60 price cut courtesy of Best Buy. We have a very positive review of this slate, remarking that it handles productivity and entertainment apps way better than the sticker price would indicate, thanks to a potent Snapdragon 695 processor and expandable microSD storage. It lacks a few features that we’re used to in higher-priced models, like biometric fingerprint authentication, but it blows similar tablets out of the water.

Popular 3D printer company Elegoo is having a big sale right now, so if you haven’t hopped on the bandwagon, it’s a great time to do so. We raved over the Centauri printer in our review, with expert Ted Needleman declaring it “an excellent, reasonably priced 3D printer for beginners” thanks to simple setup and operation, a large print bed, and lots of material options thanks to the fully enclosed printing area and the steel extruder nozzle rated for a maximum of 608 degrees F. We gave an “Excellent” rating to the first-generation ThinkPad E16 in our review, noting that it worked well as a desktop replacement thanks to its large 16-inch screen, good performance, and MIL-STD 810H durability testing. This model upgrades the silicon from our review unit in a few ways, most notably by boosting the CPU to a Core Ultra 5 processor, as well as boosting the wireless to Wi-Fi 6E. While it doesn’t push the envelope too much, it’s the Platonic ideal of a professional portable that will enable productivity on the go, and a 35% price drop is amazing.
