Amazon’s Fire tablets aren’t designed to compete with creative powerhouses like the iPad that sell for many times their cost. Instead, they’re positioned as a portable and easy-to-use gateway to the company’s massive content ecosystem, and for watching videos, reading e-books and casual gaming they’re hard to beat. In our review of the Fire HD 10, we gave it an Editors’ Choice award, with analyst Sarah Lord saying the slate “offers the best blend of performance, price, and size in the Fire lineup” thanks to solid build quality, a vibrant FHD display and the ability to use it as an Echo Show smart screen.

A video doorbell is a budget-conscious way to add smart security features to your home without total surveillance. The onboard camera gives you crisp HDR 2K video during the day, with black and white footage courtesy of an infrared sensor at night. Another Editors’ Choice winner, we raved about Sony’s over-ear WH-1000XM4 headphones in our review, noting that they deliver some of the best active noise cancellation on the market, especially when paired with the mobile app that lets you make granular adjustments to the audio profile. With deep bass notes and clear, crisp highs, they excel for just about every form of music, and they’re comfortable on the ears even for long periods of time. If you’re an audiophile who values quality at a consumer-level price, there’s no beating these, especially at a $100 discount.
