The figure of CISO continues with good salary expectations for 2025. Thus, according to the annual report Estimated salaries IT profiles 2025 of Setesca Talent, he will be the professional who will see his remuneration increase the most this year that is about to begin, with expectations of salary improvement of 10%. After having a 15% improvement planned for 2024, a CISO has an average remuneration that ranges between 90,000 and 120,000 euros gross per year.
After the CISO, the professionals who occupy the positions of Governance Manager, Data Manager and CIO are the ones who will have the greatest salary increase: around 5%. The salary of the first two positions is between 50,000 and 75,000 euros per year, while that of the CIOs varies between 120,000 and 180,000 euros per year.
The study offers a detailed vision of salary trends and working conditions in the technology sector in Spain. Its objective is to provide the most accurate vision possible of the contracting conditions of technological profiles in Spain, so that companies can make informed decisions that accept the supply and demand of the market.
In addition to salary, technological profiles have other incentives in their positions. The most common is to have intensive working hours during the summer months, which 85% of those surveyed have. The survey also reflects that, on average, a salary increase in companies is expected to be around 4% in 2025. The report also reflects that companies that prioritized well-being, flexibility and personalized benefits are those that managed to attract and retain more talent in a changing work environment, with an increasing turnover of technicians in search of better conditions.
In Spain, the relocation of resources within the same region stands out, while in Europe cross-border contracting is growing. By 2025, a labor market with more available talent is expected, driven by restructuring in startups, as well as the demand for flexible schemes, although with a moderate brake on salaries.
A shortage of experts is also anticipated in certain fields, such as migrations to SAP 4/HANA. This, accompanied by the transformative effects that AI tools will produce in technical roles, due to the increase in productivity they generate.
