Today, I received the type of email that one wishes to never receive and which nevertheless becomes almost weekly: the indication ofa data leak following the hacking of a company which forces us to transmit our data to it if we want to benefit from its services. The incident occurred in January 2026, when hackers managed to access the account of an agent working for an external ManoMano service provider. This intrusion allowed the unauthorized extraction of several types of personal information.

The stolen data includes surnames, first names, email addresses, telephone numbers as well as any exchanges between customers and customer service. ManoMano wishes to reassure, however, that the passwords are not affected and the data has not been modified.

ManoMano releases the tool kit

As soon as this breach was discovered, ManoMano claims to have reacted quickly. The compromised account was blocked immediately, and the company made the decision to revoke all access of the subcontractor concerned.

According to the brand, a strengthening of access controls for all of its service providers has been carried out. The authorities have been informed, in particular the CNIL, ANSSI and the Urgence Cyber Île-de-France platform.

Vigilance against the risks of phishing and identity theft

ManoMano alerts its customers to the risks linked to this leak. Cybercriminals could use this information to carry out phishing operations by email, SMS or phone call, or even attempt identity theft. Suffice it to say that if you receive even more unwanted calls in the coming days, you will know why.

The company recommends redouble your vigilance and systematically check the origin of emails received, do not open suspicious attachments, never communicate banking details or passwords without being certain of the identity of the applicant, and regularly monitor their bank accounts. Classic recommendations like we see every time a company with all our data has not protected it enough. However, the platform dedicated to the DIYer should be careful, Free was recently penalized for similar reasons.
