Amazon’s beloved voice assistant Alexa is front and centre of the device, helping you kick-start your morning. You can ask Alexa to set an alarm for you, remind you of important tasks or events or check on the weather.
It can also be used as a speaker for music, podcasts or audiobooks, and we particularly like it for the latter. You will find better sounding Echo options, but we were still impressed with how loud this dinky device got when we reviewed it shortly after release.
The Amazon Echo Dot is already on our list of the best Echo speakers (moving up or down depending on price fluctuations), but it’s certainly easier to recommend thanks to this recent price cut. And you don’t even need to wait for Black Friday or the next Prime Day.
Even though it’s a tad pricier than the base Echo Dot, the Echo Spot should definitely be your go-to pick if you want a smarter-than-average alarm clock that can do plenty more besides.
