Navee presents its new scooter at 699 euros (finally 799 euros, but there are 100 euros in discount from the launch). And the first thing that made us tick, it was the style, close to a certain Xiaomi Scooter 4 Ultra. A model that has not experienced any descendants this year on the manufacturer’s side with smartphones. Navee would have reserved this model? Possible, insofar as he now produces Xiaomi scooters, including the famous Ultra 4 scooter.

In addition to this anecdotal point, Navee was not yet up to the competition: average finish, questionable sustainability, power which collapses as a climb and, for the S60 which is targeted here, an nonexistent damping. All these points offered a margin of colossal progression. Especially since in parallel, Ninebot drew the ZT3 Pro at the same Price and, for 200 euros more, a max G3 which comes in direct competition. There is also Kukirin and his G3 that we will try to have on a test. So well or not this ST3? Almost.

Design: false carbon and real shiny plastic

Let’s start with a fun aspect: on its site, Navee highlights the torsion resistance of the steel chassis of the ST3 Pro. Steel is heavy. So, to visually lighten its scooter, the manufacturer has equipped it with a carbon effect cover, which suggests that it “must be light”. It’s smart.

That said, this effect is discreet and brings a touch of sportiness that goes well with the front and back suspensions adorned with very pale pink gold. The rear mudguard in two parts included of the S60 is pretty and has been redesigned to be more resistant? Like almost all the elements of the model.

Everything is new. The handlebars are more aesthetic. The lighthouse is removable and still lacks power in unlit areas.

The folding system was revised so that the gallows was perfectly aligned with the deck (and no longer offbeat as it was before). Besides this point, the grip folds down to disappear in the column. And it’s well done, since once the hook is hooked, hanging, the gallows will no longer fall. But you will have to endure almost 25 kg at arm’s length. Fortunately, the balance is good by placing the hand just under the hook.

The acclaimed novelty is the presence of colorful LEDs on the side of the deck. Different animations are available and running water offers something very relaxing. Four colors are available: red, green, blue or purple. Besides the fun side, these LEDs add a welcome visibility at night.

Finally, the hook has been revised and now supports 5kg, enough to do the races quietly for the evening and even more.

Driving: comfort above all

In the 90s claimed the adage: “Plastic is fantastic. 35 years later, it can be replaced by “the elastomer does the trick”. This elastic and resistant material supplants the springs (heavier and more expensive) to save your joints. A choice that Ninebot also made on its F3 range presented last week. Positive point: it is as tender as a fresh Rosbif. The shocks are absorbed and the jump of 2 steps did not cause any breakage. Better still, on the small roads made of pavers, the Tubeless tires provide part of the work, and the suspensions do the other. This is what we expected from the S60 without having it. Navee corrected the shot and it’s a very good thing.
On the other hand, from a trip a little sprinkled with fresh and humid rain, it brings on an air of Bohemian Rhapsody.

The engine is powerful. The 600W promised are there. But it is especially in crest that the ST3 PRO does the job. The 22 km/h were held on the test route, knowing that the Navee N65i, under the same conditions, did not exceed 12 km/h. But the arrival of sunny days changed the situation. Solicited intensely on a beautiful climb, the ST3 PRO ended up capitulating, to stagnate at 14 km/h. However, beware, it was a steep and long climb. But this is proof that Navee is still struggling to manage thermal dissipation. To be taken into account if your journey takes place in hilly places.

Braking is entrusted to a drum at the front and a mechanical disc at the back. Our reception involved an adjustment of the latter for that matter. Nothing serious. Once the set is adjusted, it works. The controllers are a bit firm and require strengthening to slow down the machine. The inclination of the stem, the shock absorber and the progressiveness of the drum limits the risks of the sun. 10 -inch Tubeless tires being able to cross sidewalks and other small hens nests still have a limit.

Braking is also based on the engine and magnetic energy recovery. Three intensities are available and the “strong” mode is aptly named. However, do not dream: the recovered energy remains anecdotal compared to consumption. But in terms of security, it allows you to brake shorter.
Moreover, launched at 25 km/h with 100 kg on the deck, on dry ground, the Navee St3 Pro stops in 3.3 meters.

The rear wheel can be blocked in the event of excess pressure on the right handle. But you have to insist heavily.

The position is comfortable and the height adapted to people measuring 1.65m minimum. Below, you will be uncomfortable. Indeed, the handlebars sits 1.07 m from the deck. The wide handlebar offers good comfort in the turn. Despite its almost 26 kg, the ST3 Pro is agile and it is a good surprise.

The indicators, as usual, are invisible during the day and seeing at night. But they are there.

Navee has integrated a traction control. Useful ? No. The problem is not sending power to the ground, but the lack of progressiveness of the acceleration trigger. There is a jerk effect generating a pendulum effect. A problem that can be solved thanks to an experimental function called “S-Gear acceleration adjustment” (in other words, sensitivity of the acceleration trigger). It offers Eco mode and turbo mode. The eco mode is more pleasant and progressive.

Besides, the ST3 PRO only offers 3 modes of travel: walking (to help you push the scooter on the rise for example), D (as a drive) whose softer acceleration gently propels you to 20 km/h and sport which hits the 25 km/h.

On the other hand, the turn is very comfortable. The scooter is well in curve and the tires hang on the bitumen. All in quality suspended comfort.

Autonomy and recharge: it’s endless

Navee has not improved its recharge speed. The 10 hours announced are not a joke and the worst is that the charging curve is flat: 10% per hour, from 0% to 100%. An eternity. A fast charger would not be refused.

The positive point is autonomy. With a temperature around 5 degrees, a 100 kg rider on the machine, the ST3 PRO has traveled 26 km with our famous test drop.

10 hours for a full load. It’s endless! © Jérémy FDIDA

The other outings made it possible to push, on dish, 28 km. An honorable score. The load of the load port is always a piece of rubber with questionable resistance. The developments are rather thin here.

A minimalist and minimum application

Navee’s application has always been problematic. Good news, the connection bug has been resolved and has been improved. It is thus possible to update your vehicle, to configure it to activate Find My Apple, to choose the intensity of regenerative braking, to activate the traction control, the sensitivity of the acceleration trigger and lock the scooter via Bluetooth. Everything is readable.

A journey monitoring board is also available. Summary, he informs about journey time, distance and average speed. But he does not inform about the date of each trip.

On the other hand, the virtual counter has disappeared. On the other hand, no one used it. I just regret not being able to display the time and the percentage of battery (or better, the remaining mileage) on the screen.

Price and availability

The Navee St3 Pro is sold for 699 euros, 100 euros more than the ST3, which is the same, but less powerful (100 W in nominal less all the same) and having a battery with the lower capacity of 100 Wh. In short, the ST3 is clearly a call product to have the pro signed. And the gain of 500 g is anecdotal. Note, however, that the official price is 799 euros, a price that no longer makes it competitive at all against the Ninebot Max G3.
