After ranking the “best applications” of the year, Apple has just revealed this Monday the list of the most downloaded mobile applications and games of the year. To view these graphs, nothing could be simpler, just go to the “Today” page of the App Store.
The most downloaded applications and games (free or paid) are then classified, Apple has even created a section for Apple Arcade. In addition to the most popular titles, a selection of applications chosen by the App Store editors is presented to the public. It brings together 17 exceptional titles that help users express their creativity or achieve their goals.
As far as we are concerned, in France, it is the Meta group’s new social network, Threads, which comes in first position. Twitter‘s competing application has become a real social phenomenon in recent months and France has not missed it.
Temu and ChatGPT complete the podium
The application is ahead of two other well-known titles, Temu and ChatGPT. If you are not yet familiar with these applications, Temu is an online sales platform comparable to Amazon. It has become known in recent months with a very aggressive pricing policy. It has also been widely criticized for its carbon footprint, which is more than bad.
As far as ChatGPT is concerned, it is the number 1 artificial intelligence. Used by the general public for months as well as by specialists on the subject, ChatGPT makes it possible to answer all the questions in the world (or almost), all with a personalized and unique response every time.
The rest of the top 10
In the rest of the ranking published this Monday by Apple, we find titles like Google (4th), TikTok (5th) or WhatsApp (6th). Google Chrome, Google Maps, Shein and Instagram complete the top 10. A ranking which nevertheless does not reflect the level of use of an application, but only its popularity and its number of downloads.
Paid applications
For paid services on the App Store, Forest is in the lead in France. Launched in 2016, this fairly simple application is designed to improve user productivity. As he focuses on a set task, a virtual tree grows. As soon as he loses his concentration, his tree stops growing and begins to wither.
The service is therefore quite simple, but seems very effective, it has managed to convince thousands of people this year. It is ahead of titles accustomed to these rankings like WeatherPro (2nd) and Procreate Pocket (3rd).
