After weeks of teasers, Motorola has finally unveiled its ultrathin alternative to the iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

Motorola’s new Edge 70 is ridiculously slim at just 5.99mm, yet it still squeezes in a 4,800mAh battery with 68W and 15W wireless charging.

It’s tougher than much of the competition too, with IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H durability and Gorilla Glass 7i. Around the back, a trio of 50MP cameras delivers crisp shots in any light.

The best part? It’s on sale right now for £699.99 at EE, Vodafone, Three, Currys, Argos, Amazon, John Lewis and Motorola.com, again, much cheaper than the ultrathin alternatives.

Motorola says the Edge 70 is the first of a new generation focused on an ultrathin build that still feels sturdy, pairing an aircraft-grade aluminium frame with a soft texture and Pantone-curated colours.

The camera trio covers daily shots with a 50MP main that records 4K and promises 3x more HDR coverage, a 50MP ultrawide that doubles as Macro at 120°, and a 50MP front camera. Plus, OIS and Pantone Validated colour aim to keep detail and skin tones looking natural.

Moto AI shows up across photos and daily tasks, with Photo Enhancement Engine, Signature Style, Action Shot, and Group Shot handling images, while Next Move and Image Studio help with quick actions and visuals. You’ll get a MagSafe-compatible case in the box that fits the slim frame, and it still works with wireless charging too.

For a phone this thin, Motorola quotes up to 50 hours of mixed use and 29 hours of continuous video playback. Inside is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 for enhanced efficiency and on-device AI, and software support is provided for four Android OS upgrades, including Android 16, as well as bi-monthly security updates through July 2031.

There are also budget models joining the lineup, including the Moto G57 Power, which packs a 7000mAh high-density silicon-carbon battery with 30W TurboPower and a Sony LYTIA 600 camera system powered by Moto AI. You also get MIL-STD-810H testing, Gorilla Glass 7i, and IP64 protection, so it’s built to handle everyday knocks and spills.

The regular Moto G57 is lighter, featuring a 5200mAh battery, but retains the same camera setup. Both phones run on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 platform, featuring 6.72-inch FHD+ 120Hz screens, stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos for added punch.

In the UK, the Moto G57 Power will set you back £229.99, and like the Edge 70, it’s available to buy today.

The brand also announced the £49.99 Moto Buds Bass, featuring up to 9 hours of playback per charge and 43 hours with the case. It boasts a triple-mic system with CrystalTalk AI, a water-repellent design, Dynamic ANC of up to 50dB, and 12.4mm drivers that support Hi-Res Audio.
