After weeks and weeks of speculation, rumors, and leaks, Google finally revealed the Pixel 10 lineup, along with its latest wearables, at its Made by Google event. And this time around, there’s plenty the tech giant has added to make Pixel and wearable fans excited.
The Pixel 10 Lineup Is Here With Powerful Specs and AI Features You’ll Actually Use
Let’s begin with what most Pixel fans are usually interested in: the phones themselves. Google has already teased the devices, and this year it’s launching four models: the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and the 10 Pro Fold.
All the new phones are powered by the brand-new Google Tensor G5 processor, designed for powerful multitasking. Google claims that the processor has a TPU that is up to 60% more powerful for on-device AI, and double-digit performance increases across compute cores, including a CPU that’s roughly 34% faster.
The most noticeable difference between the 10/10 Pro and the Pro XL is the display size. The standard and Pro have a 6.3-inch Acuta display, while the XL comes with a larger 6.8-inch display.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pro, and Pro XL come with 16GB of RAM, while the standard Pixel 10 is equipped with 12GB. According to Google, the Pixel 10, Pro, and Pro XL can last over 30 hours on a single charge, with the Fold slightly lower at around 24 hours. Interestingly, though the Pixel 10 and 10 Pro pack almost the same battery size, the Pro XL has a much larger battery, yet all three claim to offer similar battery life.
Though all four devices received specs updates across the board and are much more powerful compared to their predecessors in terms of performance, multitasking, and camera quality, what really stands out this year are the new AI-powered features, especially one called Magic Cue. Google explains that this feature brings a “new level of personalized intelligence and helpfulness to Pixel” and can perform tasks like suggesting relevant information and helpful actions based on the context of your phone.
For instance, if you’re calling an airline, Magic Cue will automatically pull up your flight details as soon as you dial. This is exactly the kind of AI implementation I can see people relying on daily, making routine tasks faster and more seamless. The Pixel 10 series also has a ton of other Google AI features and comes with a year of free subscription to the AI Pro Plan for eligible users.
The Pixel 10 starts at $1,349, while the Pro and Pro XL start at $1,699 and $1,999, respectively. The Fold is pricier, starting at $2,699.
The Pixel Buds 2a and Watch 4 Are Packed With Smarter Tech Than Ever
Google also announced the Pixel Buds 2a today. The Buds 2a are Google’s lightest and smallest A-series earbuds yet, and are the first to feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
Powered by the Tensor A1 chip, the Buds 2a claim to process audio 90 times faster than the speed of sound, ultimately delivering premium audio. With a much more powerful chip, the Buds 2a also boast up to 7 hours of listening with ANC on, and a total of 20 hours with the charging case. Of course, the Buds 2a are equipped with a bunch of AI features, designed to make the experience a lot better.
The Pixel Buds 2 Pro are also getting a major software upgrade, which brings upgraded audio and new ways to interact with Gemini.
Finally, Google also announced the Pixel Watch 4 today, which features a first-of-its-kind Actua 360 display that claims to deliver 10% more screen estate and reaches up to 3,000 nits of brightness.
It comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, and offers up to 30 hours of battery life on the smaller model, and 40 hours on the larger one. The wearable is packed with health, fitness, and safety features, like the ability to track your ECG, heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and more.
