Piaget has unveiled its latest take on a true icon, the Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone, and it’s a reminder that no one does gold quite like the House of Gold.
Mixing yellow and white gold, this new watch is a direct nod to the original 1979 design while sharpening it for modern tastes.
Gold has always been central to Piaget’s identity. Long before steel sports watches took over in the 1970s, the brand was already shaping precious metal into radical shapes. Yves Piaget’s Polo was inspired by his love of the sport and the high life around it. It was famously described as “a bracelet watch and a watch bracelet” and became shorthand for a certain kind of 1980s glamour, worn as easily at polo grounds as late-night New York hotspots.
Fast forward to 2024, and Piaget revived the original as the Polo 79, marking its 150th anniversary and promptly winning the GPHG Iconic Watch award.
First came yellow gold, then white gold in 2025. Now, in 2026, the Two-Tone version completes the trilogy, and arguably feels like the most characterful of the lot. It also revives one of the rarer original configurations from 1979, which will clearly appeal to collectors.

The execution is classic Piaget. A brushed white gold case (which could easily be mistaken for steel at a glance) and integrated bracelet are broken up by polished yellow gold gadroons, creating depth with its completely unique design.
The solid gold dial continues the theme (with the same pattern as the case and bracelet), finished with brushed yellow gold hands that tie everything together.
It’s not exactly subtle, but it is slightly more subtle than the all-gold version. I love it.
Inside is Piaget’s ultra-thin calibre 1200P1, just 2.35mm thick, keeping the 38mm watch impressively slim and comfortable on the wrist. It’s a reminder that Piaget’s ultra-thin watchmaking credentials are every bit as serious as its design chops.
The Piaget Polo 79 Two-Tone is available now priced at £84,000.
