Nubia’s new Z80 Ultra mixes big camera ideas with serious gaming chops and a battery built for long days.

You get a dual-focal-length setup centred on 35mm and 18mm, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with a REDMAGIC-style gaming engine, and a 7,200 mAh battery with 80W and 80W wireless charging. Global preorders kicked off on November 6, 2025, for $649 / £579 / €649.

Nubia released the full package, with a triple camera stack that leans into street shooting. The 50MP main camera features a tight 35mm focal length, while the matching 50MP ultrawide lens offers an 18mm perspective for capturing scenes. The primary sensor is powered by a reasonably large Light & Shadow Master 990 sensor, while the 64MP periscope lens extends to 85mm (2.7x).

There’s an under-display selfie camera for a clean full screen, and you get a physical shutter button, a small but welcome nod to control. Nubia also includes 21 filters for quick looks if you like to edit on the phone.

On the gaming and display side, the Z80 Ultra targets a smooth feel. The screen can hit 2000 nits peak and a 3000Hz touch response rate, while the CUBE Gaming Engine promises up to 2K visuals at 144Hz with AI Super Frame Stabilisation to keep frame pacing steady.

Cooling sounds serious too, with composite liquid metal and an oversized 3D Ice Steel VC that Nubia says expands coverage by 35 percent for longer, cooler sessions.

On the practical front, durability and extras look good, with IP68 and IP69 ratings, Black, White, and Blue finishes plus a Starry Night limited edition, and support for a magnetic NFC smart case for quick swaps and a bit of style.

Storage and memory climb to 16 GB + 1 TB at the top end, and there’s a customizable shortcut key for fast actions. Wireless charging at 80W is unusual at this price, which helps the spec sheet stand out.

For the full price breakdown, you’re looking at:
