Those responsible for the Raspberry Pi Foundation do not stop launching new products. In recent weeks, both the new Pi AI Camera and a module for M.2 SSD units have been launched, now an equally striking product arrives.
It is about the Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2a 7″ touch screen and a resolution of 720×1,280 pixels. It is based on a multi-touch capacitive panel that allows gestures with up to five fingers. It is the successor to the first Touch Display that arrived in 2015 with 480×840 resolution.
It is also specially prepared to work with Raspberry Pi OS, the official operating system for these devices, based on the Linux Debian distribution.
The touch screen includes both the screen and the cables necessary to easily connect it to a Raspberry Pi. It is compatible with all models of this miniPC except for the Pi Zero, which does not have the DSI port.
It also has a rear mount to easily attach any Raspberry Pi, thus being able to create a Linux tablet somewhat crude but certainly functional and based on these components.
The Raspberry Pi Touch Display 2 is priced at 60 dollarsand allows it to be positioned as a unique accessory for all types of projects and scenarios based on this always surprising device.
