If you still think that Futuroscope is a cheesy destination, it is because your last visit dates back far too long. This year marks the end of the vast investment plan Vision 2025 which has made it possible to transform the modest park into a real resort. Five years and 300 million euros later, the Futuroscope managed to inaugurate two themed hotels, one water park, as well as three major attractions. After Mars objective in 2020 and tornado hunters in 2022, it is now the Bermuda mission to come and enrich the park’s offer with an experience unique in the world.
Following the inauguration reserved for the press on June 14 as well as a short period of Soft-Overing (tests in real conditions to prepare for the start of operations), the last novelty of Futuroscope finally holds its final opening date. Good news if you planned to go there this weekend: Mission Bermuda will launch its daily expeditions from Saturday June 28.
The Futuroscope offers a world premiere
Bermuda mission is not just any box wrinkle. The tourist destination of Poitiers has come closer to Mackrides, the German manufacturer also holding Europa Park, in order to develop a system of boats never seen. Halfway between a coaster and an aquatic attraction, the “Rocking Boats”Designed specially for Futuroscope mark a real turning point for rides of the genre. These are linked to rails as well as leaflets that allow them not only to make tight turns, but also and above all to float like real boats.
This new generation of aquatic attraction therefore makes it possible to propose more true than life sensations, which prove to be particularly stunning in Bermuda mission rapids. Futuroscope has invested 25 million euros in this experience, the greatest expense ever made by the destination for an attraction, and as much to say that the result in Vaux the candle.
An immersive experience that redefines the future of Futuroscope
Innovation has always been at the heart of Futuroscope’s DNA. For a long time, this philosophy was limited to cinematographic attractions and other immersive shows, but the destination is now trying to other styles of experience. Mission Bermuda is a perfect showcase to present what will be capable of the park in the years to come. Gigantic physical sets, striking effects, and sensations (a fall 16m high and a speed of 60 km/h in this case): Futuroscope understood that technological innovations in terms of attractions are not only expressed on screens.
Bermuda mission was thought of as a life -size action film rather than 4D cinema, and it is by producing experiences of the genre that the park will manage to stand out in the future. If you want to go and discover this new nugget with the family, know that it is possible to take part in the adventure from 1m05, enough to accommodate the youngest explorers.
