Samsung is set to finally reveal everything about the Galaxy S25 Edge in just a few days at its next Unpacked event. Here’s everything we already know about the Samsung slim phone, including likely specs and features.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, which was first teased in January, is expected to launch soon as a slimmer alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. More specifically, Samsung described the device as a “culmination of our most innovative technology, packed into a form that’s sleek, powerful and unlike anything you’ve seen before”.
In the past, Samsung’s ‘Edge’ branding has referred to phones with curved displays, but the phone that came together in the teaser and was showcased at the Unpacked event in Korea looks (unsurprisingly) very different to a phone like 2016’s Samsung S7 Edge.
It’s worth noting that Apple is rumored to have its own slim smartphone in the works called the iPhone 17 Air. However, Samsung beat them to the big announcement.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: The Samsung slim phone confirmed launch date
Samsung has announced an Unpacked event with the tagline Beyond Slim will take place on May 13 2025, and will finally reveal all about the S25 Edge.
As part of the invite for the online event, Samsung said: “This is more than a slim smartphone. Every curve, contour and component reflects a breakthrough in precise engineering to create a premium experience worthy of the S series name. The Galaxy S25 Edge not only sets a new standard for what you can achieve with your smartphone — but it also unlocks a new era of growth for the mobile industry.”
While official pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, reports have suggested that the 256GB model will cost 1,500,000 won (around $1,031/£798), while the 512GB phone will cost 1,630,000 million won (around $1,120/£866). The report also states that there will be no 1TB configuration.
These prices position the S25 Edge right below the top-end S25 Ultra in terms of cost, though how the specs and features will compare to the other phones in the series is yet to be confirmed.
Smasung Galaxy S25 Edge design: We’ve seen the slim Samsung phone in person
We had the chance to see the phone in the flesh earlier in the year at MWC, and while we couldn’t touch or really get a sense of how slim it would be to use, we did get some shots of the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge specs
In terms of specs, previous rumours have suggested a 6.4mm thickness. This would make the phone almost 25% thinner than the new Galaxy S25 Ultra. Like the rumoured iPhone 17 Air, the slimness will be the main selling point.
The phone is also expected to boast a 6.656-inch display with bezels as thin as those on the S25 Ultra, according to an X post by Ice Universe. The tipster also describes the Edge as 5.84mm thick and 162g, meaning it could be even slimmer than previous rumors had suggested.

Thankfully, Samsung’s UK Marketing Director Annika Bizon has already reassured TechRadar that the phone will be durable despite this slimness.
“I can’t say too much, but what I will say is that [the Edge] is about beautiful form factor. And there are two points I want to make”, said Bizon. “One is that it’s absolutely stunning. And if you think about the technology that’s going into that size of space, it’s pretty impressive.
“The second thing I’ll say concerns durability. With anything slim, durability [has to come as part of the package]. Those are the two features [of the Edge] that are exciting [for us]. Well, I know durability isn’t exciting – but it’s really important. So watch this space, because there are some exciting things to come regarding this phone”.

On the back of the S25 Edge there are two cameras, and Samsung has confirmed the duo will be headlined by a 200MP sensor toting many of the AI features we’ve come to expect from the series. The camera getting the chop will likely be a zoom, so if you want to get really close to a subject then there’s still a reason to plump for the other S25 models.
While the Snapdragon 8 Elite is still expected to be on board, there would likely be compromises elsewhere.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge battery life could be a concern
Out of all the reported specs for the S25 Edge, it’s the battery size that has us worried. The leak, which comes from WinFuture, suggests the phone will have a 3900 mAh battery, notably smaller than the 4900 mAh battery inside the S25 Plus.
That’s a very small battery, especially for a phone that’s expected to tote a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2130×1440. While we appreciate the desire for a super-slim headline-grabbing device, we hope it doesn’t come with endurance
