Four years after its launch on the French market, the Toniebox is renewed, with a new iteration. Always thought for children, the promise remains the same: no screen, no advertising, but sound, audios stories, and (it’s new) interactive games.
What changes?
The Toniebox 2 keeps its soft template to resist indelicate hands, but wins rounded corners, a RGB luminous ring which changes color depending on the interactions (enough to compete with parents’ gaming keyboards), and a new palette of new colors. As on the first version, there is a slew of figurines, for original stories or from the favorite licenses of the little ones. At this level, nothing changes, the whole Tonie toy library remains 100% compatible.
This is where things become interesting: the toniebox embeds Tonieplay and 12 interactive audio games, Inspired by Pat’Patrol, Gabby the Magic House, Winnie L’Ourson and Disney franchises. We put his figurine, we answer, we play, solo or with family, guided by sound and challenges. Forget the joysticks: everything takes place in the audio, via NFC, Bluetooth and a cloud backup, for an experience close to video games, but without the stress of the screens.
To accompany the start of the school year, the new tonie box is also equipped with alarm functionality, with a Dawn simulator and sleep light At timer, perfect to accompany the ritual of the sunrise and bedtime. Not sure that it is enough to make a good time in the morning before going to school, but the initiative should make it possible to make things easier.
Toddlers are not forgotten: the range My first tones offer soft and flexible figurines, with sounds and songs adapted from a year old, just to educate the ear and boost imagination, without risking breakage. Toniebox 2 will be launched in France from September 15 at the recommended price of € 119.99. All the old figurines remain compatible, while a new Tonieplay range has entered the market, for prices around 20 € depending on the licenses.
