It’s already been 14 years since the Tuches arrived in our lives. This family, funny, endearing, and devilishly rich, has evolved since its first appearance on the big screen in 2011. Jeff, Cathy and their children returned in a fifth part in early 2025. Their adventures take them to England, where the grandson will have to prove himself to join the Arsenal football team.
On this occasion, TF1 decided to broadcast Les Tuches 4a powerful compendium of memes and references (just like the other parts). If you haven’t watched yet God Save the Tuche and you prefer to join the ranks of the nostalgic, we invite you to review the most cult expressions of the previous films in the saga. Here are our top 3 of those we use the most in everyday life.
1. The classic
We ask you: who, since 2011, has not used the expression “fries, fries, fries!” on an almost daily basis! when sitting down to eat? Certainly not us. We owe this iconic phrase to the very first film Les Tuche, a few minutes before the family learns they have won an astronomical sum in the lottery. This expression has become a staple of meals when the plates are long overdue. It obviously has to be accompanied by a banging of the fist on the table, otherwise the meme would not be complete.
We can also mention the fact that the fries are made from local potatoes, an alternative to the famous “potato”. This sentence is pronounced by Cathy Tuche in the third part when the family lives at the Elysée following the election of the patriarch as head of the French state.

2. The spicy ref
And what do we eat with fries? Samurai sauce obviously. In Les Tuches 3Jeff teaches the chef of the presidential residence what Samurai sauce is: “the mayonnaise that stings, that stings. It’s so strong that your eyes sting, SAMURAI!“We couldn’t say it better. Will we be shouting the word samurai uncontrollably during our Assassin’s Creed Shadows gaming sessions? Of course.
3. Our excuse for everything
In 2025, we forget the bogus excuses for not going to the events planned in our calendar, and we adopt the transparency of Jeff Tuche. Inveterately unemployed, inaction is in his DNA from father to son for generations. When we ask him for a service, he responds naturally: “I can’t, I don’t have time, I have nothing to do.”
It’s an expression that we use so often that we could have forgotten that it was the big man Jean-Paul Rouve who uttered it first in the first film of the saga. The phrase is as cult as “I can’t, I have an aqua pony” or “I can’t, I have a swimming pool”, except that it is much more honest.
Bonus: we play on the numbers
You can do one ref, but not fifteen (oh yes, we bet?). As we want to leave no one behind, we allow ourselves one last quote. This has the merit of being used in any situation as long as it can be adapted. This is the mythical scene of bank cards in Les Tuches 2. Jeff suddenly realizes that he has lost not one, not two, but all 15 of his credit cards, all at once. Obviously, when you put them all in the same place… It can be used endlessly as long as the numbers are in the spotlight, so don’t hesitate to use it, rather fifteen times than once.
