Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled a new special edition of its flagship wireless headphones, and this one is built for McLaren fans.

The Px8 S2 McLaren Edition takes the already-excellent Px8 S2 and outfits it with McLaren’s signature racing identity, arriving just in time for the buzz around the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

This is the third collaboration between the two brands, and it shows. The headphones blend McLaren’s Papaya accents with Anthracite Grey, complete with subtle Speedmark detailing on the headband and earcups.

B&W has also upgraded the finish with diecast aluminium arms, diamond-cut metal trims, and soft Nappa leather, giving this edition the feel of a limited-run collector piece, not just a cosmetic refresh.

Underneath the design, the Px8 S2 McLaren Edition carries the same high-end engineering as the standard model. That includes Bowers & Wilkins’ new bespoke 40mm Carbon Cone drivers, now housed in an improved chassis and angled inside each earcup for better imaging and stereo width. The result, according to B&W, is lower distortion and noticeably sharper detail – ideal for anyone who wants true reference-grade sound from a wireless pair.

Noise cancellation is the same B&W-optimised system from the Px8 S2, aiming to shut out external noise without flattening the music.

Wireless audio is handled by aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, backed by the company’s DSP to deliver 24-bit/96kHz playback. Battery life remains a strong 30 hours, with a 15-minute charge supplying up to seven hours of listening.

As with the rest of B&W’s current lineup, the headphones integrate closely with the Bowers & Wilkins Music app, offering adjustable transparency mode, custom EQ with storable presets, wear-sensor controls and quick-access button customisation.

The Px8 S2 McLaren Edition arrives as part of the brand’s decade-long partnership, one that started with B&W’s high-performance audio systems inside McLaren’s supercars and now extends across the McLaren Formula 1 Team. This edition is essentially a celebration of that shared engineering DNA: precision, performance, and a very specific shade of Papaya.

The Px8 S2 McLaren Edition are on sale now for £729 / €829 / $899 from the Bowers & Wilkins website and selected retailers.
