Spigen is leaning further into retro Apple nostalgia with a new accessory that gives your earbuds a distinctly old-school twist.
Its latest case transforms the AirPods Pro 3 charging case into a miniature version of the original Macintosh’s single-button mouse. It’s complete with that unmistakable ’80s look.
Priced at $29.99/£25, the case comes in two parts that snap onto the AirPods’ charging case, covering both the base and the hinged lid. Despite the redesign, it doesn’t get in the way of everyday use. The lid still opens as normal, while the USB-C port and status LED remain fully accessible.
The standout detail is the oversized grey “button” on top, which isn’t just for show. In fact, it doubles as a locking mechanism to help prevent the case from accidentally popping open. This is a small but practical addition that fits neatly into the retro theme.
There are a couple of trade-offs. The case blocks the AirPods’ built-in lanyard loop, though Spigen includes its own connector as a workaround. And while it nails the look of a classic Macintosh accessory, it’s purely cosmetic – this isn’t a functional mouse.
The design is part of Spigen’s wider Classic LS lineup, which also includes matching accessories like a MagSafe wallet and a wrist lanyard. All are styled after early Apple hardware. Like the case, they lean heavily on nostalgia, even if that sometimes comes at the expense of practicality. For instance, the wallet only holds up to three cards.
For AirPods owners already using retro-inspired cases on their phones, this feels like a natural extension. It’s a simple accessory, but one that stands out — especially if you’re into Apple’s early design language and want your tech to match.
