Even though there are loads of great Fire TVs out there, have you considered which one offers the best value for money? Well, we have.
Late last year saw the release of the impressive Amazon Fire 50” 4-Series 4K UHD smart TV, and while it’s far from being the most advanced set out there, it was always the go-to option for those looking for a decent 4K TV on a budget.
If you’re in agreement with us and plan on getting the TV soon, then you’ll be happy to know that it’s just been given a massive price cut.
Originally going for $399.99, the Fire TV 50” 4-Series set can now be bought for just $289.99. That’s a saving of $110 to be had, which may be better spent elsewhere this holiday season.

If you’ve ever owned an Amazon device before, be it an Echo speaker or Fire Tablet, then you’ll already be aware of just how handy the Fire OS interface is, and it’s no different here on the Fire TV screen.
Sure, there is a fair amount of ads promoting the latest shows on Prime Video but when Fire OS is giving you access to all of your favourite streaming apps – Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu etc. – it’s a fairly easy trade-off.
The TV also supports Alexa, so if you do have an Echo device set up in the same room as the Fire TV, then you can simply ask for the show or movie that you want to watch and the Fire TV will dive straight in with it. Alternatively, you can use the included Alexa Voice Remote to navigate around.
It can be a bit of a faff typing in passwords and usernames, so if you have them at the ready then it might be best to set things up completely via the remote this time around.
On the 4K Ultra HD display itself, HDR 10 and HLG help to bring plenty of detail and vibrancy to the picture, especially when compared to the 1080p Full HD sets that have (but are quickly moving away from) been the norm for quite some time.
Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t the type of TV that’s going to have you marvelling at its picture quality and wondering just what sorcery Amazon has used to pump out such detail. Instead, it’s a perfectly fine experience that gets the job done.
It may not feature the same level of premium performance found on the higher-end Amazon TVs, but if you’re looking for the most affordable way to gain access to Amazon’s Fire OS with 4K resolution, then this is the bargain TV to buy.
