In what is easily the best mid-range phone offer I’ve seen all year, you can now get the all-new Pixel 9a for a steal.

I’ve been covering smartphone deals long enough to know that after a certain amount of time, sizeable discounts on Pixel phones aren’t exactly uncommon, but what is surprising is just how quickly the price of the Pixel 9a has dropped given that it only came out earlier this month.

Head on over to Giffgaff and you’ll see exactly what I mean. You can buy the Pixel 9a for just £369 (reduced from £499) and it comes with a free Fitbit Charge 6 for good measure, so you’re getting an epic phone and fitness tracker combo for next to nothing.

The Pixel 9a is now massively discounted against its original £499 price tag, and you can get the Fitbit Charge 6 at no extra cost, culminating in an epic bundle for anyone who wants to upgrade on a budget.

For context, that bundle is just over half of what it would cost to buy Apple’s entry-level iPhone 16e, so if you’re a current iPhone user who just wants a feature packed upgrade that doesn’t break the bank, you might want to consider this unbelievable offer instead.

At this point, it shouldn’t be a secret to anyone that Google absolutely crushes when it comes to the best mid-range phones. Sure, there’s been plenty of increasing competition from the likes of Honor, OnePlus and Nothing, but as an overall package, Google’s ‘a’ series Pixels deliver.

For the first time in quite a while, Google’s opted for a redesign at this end of the market, doing away with the visor-style camera bar that Pixels are typically known for, instead having the cameras sit flush within the body of the phone so that they don’t stand out unnecessarily.

The new aesthetic feels far more uniform, and while it might not be as attention-grabbing as what you’ll see on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, it does feel a lot cleaner, which may be preferable to some.

Where the Pixel 9a really excels however, and in some instances can actually go toe-to-toe with much pricier flagships, is in the camera department. In his 4.5-star review for the phone, Mobiles Editor Lewis Painter had this to say:

“Even when light levels begin to drop, the Pixel 9a’s main camera continues to deliver. Compared to the similarly priced Samsung Galaxy A56 5G, the Pixel 9a has more accurate tones (the Galaxy had an odd purple hue to low-light shots) and more detail – though it does seem to suffer from lens flare a little more than Samsung’s alternative.”

This is all before mentioning the brilliance of the Fitbit Charge 6, which is one of the best fitness trackers out there for folks who are just starting out in their quest to lead a healthier lifestyle. No matter how you look at it, this is one of the top smartphone offers on the market right now.
