With Quantum Dot OLED technology, a 4K resolution and a powerful cooling system, it’s fair to say that the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 is a seriously feature-packed monitor.
We concluded that the Odyssey OLED G8’s panel offers an “all-round phenomenal image performance” with a “contrast most monitors can only dream of”. Not only does Samsung manage to squeeze a full 4K resolution into the 27-inch display, but it also offers brilliant colour and contrast performance too.
In fact, although the Odyssey G8 is predominately a gaming monitor, if you did want to use it for watching the odd TV show or film then you’ll benefit from an image that puts many dedicated TVs to shame.
Perhaps one of the most notable features of the monitor, aside from its picture quality, is with its anti-glare screen. Hailed by our reviewer as “remarkable”, the anti-glare rejects essentially all reflections – even when gaming in a bright room.
It’s always good to note that the set-up process here is a doddle too, and doesn’t require any tools or complicated steps. Despite its easy set-up, the monitor feels reassuringly sturdy and can be tilted, twisted or rotated up to 90° with ease.
