Qualcomm has already tested their next-gen flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. This chipset is expected to be unveiled at the Snapdragon Summit 2025 (Sept. 23–26). But some fresh leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station have revealed promising benchmark scores and key hardware upgrades. This could make it one of the most powerful processors and give MediaTek and Apple Bionic some serious competition.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will reportedly introduce Qualcomm’s second-gen Oryon CPU architecture. This will bring a major boost in both single-core and multi-core performance. According to a post by tipster Digital Chat Station, this flagship chipset scored over 4,000 in the single-core test and more than 11,000 in the multi-core test on Geekbench 6.
That’s a huge leap from the first-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite, which scored around 3,100 and 9,800, respectively. This means that flagship users can expect smoother multitasking, better thermal management, and better gaming experience with even higher FPS.
These leaks also gave a closer look at the new CPU layout, which features a 2+6 core setup with clock speeds peaking at 5GHz. The base clock speeds are expected to be slightly bumped to 4.4GHz, compared to 4.32GHz on its predecessor. This upcoming flagship chip is mostly being built on TSMC’s 3rd-gen 3nm process, which means better power efficiency and thermal control. All this clearly shows that Qualcomm is building this new chip with the main goal to crush gaming, multitasking, and AI-heavy applications.
The new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to debut in all the top-end flagships next year. The Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro could be the first to launch with this chipset, and other brands like Samsung, OnePlus, iQOO, and Realme could follow suit.
