Want to fully automate your home? You’ll need a fleet of other household robots like robot vacuums and other smart devices. That’s why robots are on the way. But so far, we’ve only seen demo units or human-controlled prototypes. But I think this might be the first humanoid robot you can actually have in your home.

Unveiled at CES 2026, the Onero H1 is SwitchBot’s first crack at a general-use humanoid robot – the folks behind one of my favourite robot vacs. It’s pegged not just as a cute gimmick but as something aiming to actually do stuff around your house. Unlike a robot vacuum that has one job (and often still gets stuck under your sofa), this upright, sensor-laden contraption is built to handle the household tasks we usually don’t have time for (or don’t like doing).

It offers 22 degrees of freedom, which means it can actually move its limbs, and has Intel RealSense cameras in its head, hands, and belly for reliable depth perception. It’s driven by SwitchBot’s own OmniSense VLA model, which lets it combine visual input, touch, and common sense to handle real-world objects without turning your mug cupboard into a pile of shards.

What makes this robot more than just a glorified stick figure is its collaboration with other SwitchBot gadgets. It plays nicely with your smart curtains, locks, and doorbells, learning from them and gradually making itself useful. Instead of being a one-trick pony, it’s a slowly evolving multi-tool for the home – more Alfred than Roomba. It will figure out what needs doing and get on with it.

The idea here isn’t to replace your smart plugs or your vacuum, but to build something that actually makes your home smart. If the dream is a home that tidies itself, then Onero H1 is an early version of that fantasy that looks vaguely like a cross between a friendly stormtrooper and a Dyson fan.

The Onero H1 and its modular robotic arms will be available for pre-order soon through SwitchBot’s website. We don’t have official pricing yet, but don’t expect humanoid robots to come cheap. That said, it might be cheaper than others with a price likely to fall under $10000.
