This OLED TV is one of the brightest I’ve seen… and one of the thinnest

LG’s Wallpaper TV is back – it’s thinner and brighter than ever. The W6, revealed at CES 2026, is one of the most ludicrously thin 4K televisions I’ve ever laid eyes on, sitting at just 9mm thick. And somehow, it’s still packing a proper OLED panel that’s one of the brightest on the market.

The W6 looks like it was designed to disappear. It’s made to blend into your wall, sticking flush with an improved mount. There’s no bulky box on the back, all the brains have been shunted into a separate Zero Connect Box which wirelessly connects to the set. This box can live up to 10 metres away and handles your HDMI cables behind closed doors. It’s still plugged in, so you can’t quite put it anywhere, but the freedom is impressive.

As for picture quality? This OLED TV is one of the brightest you can get your hands on. LG’s new Hyper Radiant Color Technology pushes brightness nearly four times higher than the average OLED. LG’s G5 OLED from last year was one of the brightest I’ve ever reviewed, but the W6 dwarfs it. And thanks to a newly engineered low-reflective screen, you can finally watch something during the day without seeing your own face staring back at you.

All this extra brightness doesn’t come at the expense of blacks. LG claims you’ll still get its signature inky darkness alongside those punchy colours. The secret sauce is the powerful Alpha 11 Gen3 AI chip. It sharpens images without overdoing it, keeps noise down, and handles a Brightness Boost setting. There’s even a new “In This Scene” feature that lets you ask who’s on screen and what else they’ve been in – a godsend for anyone like me that checks IMDb at least once a day.

Gamers haven’t been left out either. This OLED supports 4K at 165Hz, G-SYNC, FreeSync Premium, and comes with a 0.1ms response time that should keep even the most twitchy FPS fan happy. Throw in ALLM and a dedicated game dashboard, and you’ve basically got a gaming monitor the size of your wall.

If you’re more the ambient-art type, there’s LG Gallery+, which is a souped-up AI-enhanced screensaver mode. You can pick from over 4500 visuals, moody music, and generative AI art options so your telly doesn’t just sit there when it’s off.

The W6 will be available in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes, which feels appropriate because anything smaller would probably miss the point. Pricing is still under wraps, but expect something firmly in the eye-watering bracket. Exact availability hasn’t been confirmed either, but given LG’s global ambitions, it’s likely to hit shelves later this year.
