A MAJOR password manager is closing down in days with all data deleted unless users act now.

The app has been downloaded more than 100,000 times on the Google Play Store alone.

Those affected by the move have been warned to “export your passwords” by Tuesday or lose them all.

The app in question is Dropbox Passwords.

Dropbox is known to millions as a photo and video storage service but in 2021 the firm also launched a password manager.

The company says it’s decided to discontinue Dropbox Passwords to “focus on enhancing other features in our core product”.

Its closure has been going on through phases – and the final nail in the coffin strikes on October 28.

At the end of August, Dropbox stopped allowing users to save new passwords, making all their data read-only.

By mid-September the Dropbox Passwords mobile app was closed down.

Password information has continued to be available through the browser extension until now.

So this is your final chance to get hold of any usernames and passwords before it’s too late.

The dark web monitoring feature will be discontinued too.

After Tuesday, everything will be “permanently and securely deleted from our servers”, Dropbox said.

“Unfortunately, once the final shutoff date passes on October 28, 2025, we will not be able to retrieve your data,” the firm warned.

“We encourage you to export your passwords as soon as possible.”
