Police told The Sun that gunfire erupted at 1.20am after a “verbal dispute between two people escalated”.
A 65-year-old man and a 19-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds – while an 18-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with a wound to her neck.
A police spokesperson said: “All were taken to Bellevue Hospital and are in stable condition.”
Cops confirmed a suspect was arrested at the scene near 44th Street and 7th Avenue.
Witnesses described seeing bullet holes on the windows of a car.
Footage showed one person on a stretcher being wheeled into an ambulance as cops sealed off the scene.
Another clip showed crowds fleeing outside the Hard Rock Cafe after gunshots rang out.
One of the most visited tourist destinations in the world, approximately 330,000 to 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square every day.
On busy days, the number can reach over 460,000.
It comes just days after a deadly shooting rocked Midtown Manhattan.
Just before 6pm on July 28, Shane Tamura pulled up to a bustling office skyscraper after driving from his home in Las Vegas.
Armed with an M4 rifle, the 27-year-old opened fire at the building’s entrance, killing a New York City police officer who was expecting his third child.
The chaos unfolded as the last wave of 9-to-5 workers were leaving, sending more people scrambling for cover in the busy district.
Tamura then shot and killed an investment company executive – a mother of two – before gunning down a security guard.
Taking the elevator to the 33rd floor, he entered the headquarters of the property management firm Rudin, where he fatally shot a 27-year-old associate.
An NFL employee was also critically injured during the rampage but is expected to survive.
The attack ended when Tamura turned the gun on himself.
