Three Vice Presidents of Intel Foundry leave the company

The drip of high -level exits in Intel follows, which last week announced that layoffs in the company were going to be greater than planned and will reach a third of the workforce. As for Mistry and Russell, they have been part of the Technical Directorate responsible for the development of Intel process technology. Among its current responsibilities is the supervision of the current activity of the Technology Development Group, as well as the establishment of strategic objectives.

At the end of 2024, Garry Patton also amounted to responsible for the design engineering activity in Intel Foundry. In addition, he was responsible for the offer of all the design platform solutions that the area’s clients need. He was responsible for the development of process design kits (PDKs), to validate the support of EDA tools, the creation of intellectual property libraries and the establishment of design rules.

That is, his work was to make sure that the designs of the clients developed with the EDA tools and the PDKs of Intel, as well as the intellectual property, were compatible with the Intel process technologies, and that they met the company’s power and performance objectives, as well as that they could be manufactured reliably. Before entering Intel, there was a five years in Globalfoundries and two decades in IBM.

The departure of the three arrives at a time when there is a deep restructuring of the Intel Technology Development Group, started earlier this year. As part of it, Ann Kelleher, Executive Vice President of Intel and responsible for the supervision of Intel’s manufacturing technology development, The company will also leave at the end of 2025retiring after 30 years in it.

That will continue, as a strategic counselor during the transition period, and their responsibilities will be divided between Naga Chandrasekaran, and Christmas Shariari. It leaves the company after sitting the basis for the development technologies of Intel 18A and 14a and later, crucial for the company in the coming years.

The first will deal with the manufacturing and development of the front end process as responsible for technology and operations in Intel Foundry. The second, also vice president of the company, will supervise Back End operations. Among them are assembly, advanced tests and packaging, promoting chiplets integration and testing technologies.
