Today's NYT Connections Hints, Answers for Dec. 23 #926

Today’s NYT Connections puzzle is kind of tough, but also fun. Just seeing Darth Vader, Dracula and Frankenstein in the grid was kind of entertaining. Of course, sorting them into groups wasn’t simple. Read on for clues and today’s Connections answers.

The Times has a Connections Bot, like the one for Wordle. Go there after you play to receive a numeric score and to have the program analyze your answers. Players who are registered with the Times Games section can now nerd out by following their progress, including the number of puzzles completed, win rate, number of times they nabbed a perfect score and their win streak.

Hints for today’s Connections groups

Here are four hints for the groupings in today’s Connections puzzle, ranked from the easiest yellow group to the tough (and sometimes bizarre) purple group.

Yellow group hint: Susceptible to harm.

Green group hint: Founder of psychoanalysis.

Blue group hint: Fashionistas.

Purple group hint: Look for a tasty treat hidden in other words.

Answers for today’s Connections groups

Yellow group: Vulnerability.

Green group: Freudian concepts.

Blue group: Characters in capes.

Purple group: Starting with slang for sausage.

The yellow words in today’s Connections

The theme is vulnerability. The four answers are Achilles’ heel, downfall, Kryptonite and soft spot.

The green words in today’s Connections

The theme is Freudian concepts. The four answers are fixation, Oedipus complex, superego and unconscious.

The blue words in today’s Connections

The theme is characters in capes. The four answers are Darth Vader, Dracula, Little Red Riding Hood and Superman.

The purple words in today’s Connections

The theme is starting with slang for sausage. The four answers are Bratz (brat), dogma (dog), Frankenstein (frank) and Linklater (link).
